Essential oils are nature’s wonder-workers. They are naturally occurring aromatic compounds that are found in plants. Essential oils are highly popular and a common ingredient within many common beauty, household and cleaning products, as well as regularly added within processed food and beverages. Because demand for essential oils has dramatically increased in both industrial and personal use over the past decade, the quality range can vary significantly.
Important to me is that essential oils, like many other products, are 100% natural and do not include fillers, synthetics, fragrances, perfumes, pesticides etc. which unfortunately are common in the majority of readily available cheap mainstream products. You will need to read the labels carefully, as well as do your own research into some products and brands, in order to identify if an essential oil is synthetic, reconstructed, diluted, natural, 100% pure or of therapeutic grade.
The cheapest of all options, and displaying the lowest quality, are synthetic reconstitutions of essential oils which are often petroleum derived. These are commonly found in household cleaning products, extremely cheap perfumes and beauty products or air fresheners for rooms and cars. They are not suitable for therapeutic use or personal health. Natural essential oils are from the real plant. These oils are still cheap because they are diluted and contain additional fillers like alcohol or a mix of different lower-quality oils. Additives and adulteration can be harmful to the body and greatly reduce the effectiveness of the oil. These are also not recommended for therapeutic use.
When it comes to 100% pure essential oils and therapeutic grade essential oils there are again differences. Both these grade oils usually require a more complex and careful extraction process which makes them generally more expensive. The main difference is that 100% pure essential oils can still contain a number of different pesticides, herbicides and other contaminants from air- and soil pollution. Achieving a certified pure therapeutic grade requires regular testing to confirm that essential oils are free of contaminants and that no unexpected alterations have occurred during the production process.
There are a few companies that ensure their products achieve the high grade therapeutic quality. Only this high level of quality can ensure the correct composition of the active natural compounds within essential oils which genuinely can improve personal health and wellbeing. Essential oils that are extracted from the plant during a careful distillation process and are considered therapeutic grade, such as dōTERRA’s (CPTG) Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils, can really work their magic. Before I personally decided to go with dōTERRA, I reviewed many other available products and ensured myself that the product I chose would match my expectations in terms of quality and purity. For me it was important that nature´s natural wonder-workers promote health,wealth, happiness and harmony.

When I clean my house, but particularly when mopping the floors and wiping surfaces, I fully endorse dōTERRA oils. I really recommend them to my friends and house-sitting clients who own pets, as most of dōTERRA oils are a lot safer and healthier alternative to the common available cleaning products which a full of toxins. For alternative low-tox healthy surface cleaner you can use a 1.5 Litre Spray Bottle, and simply add 1 Cup of organic vinegar, 10 drops of Eucalyptus Oil and fill with water. Spry and Wipe as you normally would.
The oils empower me to be overall healthy and a better version of myself and they also can do this for you.
I have full confidence in dōTERRA‘s quality standard for essential oils, CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade®, as dōTERRA exceeds industry standards. Because organic certification varies from country to country, province to province, and in the US, from state to state, it is not currently possible to acquire all oils under certified organic status.
However, applying the GC/MS analysis process to any dōTERRA Essential Oil, will determine if any chemical residue is present within the product, such as pesticides, herbicides, extenders, and other solvents. This rigorous analysis process ensures that all CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils offered by dōTERRA are a step above organic.
